This is an excursion that cannot be missed, unlike the ash and lava that devastated Pompeii, Herculaneum was covered by a torrent of mud, which protected the ruins from atmospheric agents and illegal excavators. The guided walking tour of Herculaneum will take about two hours, The natural preservation of wooden elements, foodstuffs, fabrics, and architecture provides a fascinating and intimate look into the Roman's private life in ancient times.

The tour will start in the morning with the pick-up from the established meeting point and the transfer by land to the port. Once on board, you will cross the Gulf of Naples, and learn more about the territory thanks to the information provided by our assistants. During the walking tour on the island, you will have the chance to visit the major attractions, like the famous “Piazzetta Umberto I” and the magnificent Gardens of Augustus. In the afternoon you can choose to have free time, continuing the visit of the island by land, or to attend the boat tour around the island. You will see the limestone caves, like the Marvellous Grotto, the White Grotto and the Green Grotto. Many attractions will catch your attention, so don’t miss the opportunity to take a souvenir picture. At the end of the day you will return to the starting point. Due to the long waiting time, the stop at the Blue Grotto is not included in the itinerary of this tour.
